Placing Holds
There is a $1 fee to hold (reserve) an item from the adult collections. This charge includes handling and postage to your local library.
Junior borrowers can place holds on items free of charge.
The first available copy in any library in the district will be sent. If the item is available in a fulltime branch, normal turnaround is approximately 3-4 days.
We will phone you to let you know that the item has arrived. Please ask at the desk for your hold and we will put the item aside for you for one week.

Interloans
If we do not have the resource you want, we can try to obtain or 'interloan' it from another national library. There is a charge of $7 to cover postage and some libraries also charge additional costs. If this is the case we will call you to see if you want to proceed.
We ask that the charge is paid upfront and we will call you once the item has arrived. Interloans may only be issued for three weeks and cannot be renewed.
Rental Charges
All DVDs and Compact Discs (CDs) are hired out on a weekly basis (7 days)

Overdue Items
All items that are overdue incur a fine of $1.50 per item per week. You will receive an overdue letter or email once the item is 8 days past its due date.
Adult music CDs and recreational DVDs and videos incur an additional rental charge rather than overdue charges. Please see rental charges for these rates.
Overdue fines are recorded on the borrowers file, and you are asked to pay them on your next visit to the library.
Parents/guardians are responsible for their children's fines and fees. Once an item becomes 6 weeks overdue it is considered lost. You will then be sent an invoice for the item, advising the replacement cost which you are required to pay.
Damaged Items
If you return an item that is in need of repair there will be a charge of $10 to cover mending costs. This includes replacement CD covers, video cases, the mending of books, and the replacing of book covers.
